About Fresh Publishing
Teach
Me Greek is the children’s book division of Fresh Publishing,
LLC. Founded in 2003, Teach Me Greek fills a void in the marketplace
for positive children’s books about African American fraternities
and sororities. For this reason, Teach Me Greek honestly boasts
“the originators of the Divine test Nine children’s
book series.” Since members of greek organizations
make up a large portion of the African American educated and consumer
buying population, I found it interesting that there weren’t
any children’s books available about our organizations,
states Teach Me Greek founder Audra P. Jackson. Many times the
only information received about fraternities and sororities is
negative media portrayal of hazing, however the focus should be
about the public service and the enriching of our communities
that these organizations actively participate.
As the publishing industry continues to grow and diversify, Teach
Me Greek books remain consistent with its brand for offering quality
informative material on the divine nine with it’s first
release “My Mommy Is A Delta”, which is the first
and only children’s book about Delta Sigma
Theta Sorority, Inc. Never before has information about African
American fraternities and sororities been published for the general
public, in a children’s book. As trendsetters, “Teach
Me Greek”, explores the positive aspects and powerful images
of African American sororities and fraternities and their significance
in African American history. Teach Me Greek seeks to teach and
educate youth about the positive influences of fraternities and
sororities and will include other titles such as: My Mommy
is an AKA, My Mommy is a Sigma Gamma Rho, My Mommy is a Zeta,
My Daddy is a Kappa, My Daddy is an Omega, My Daddy is an Alpha,
My Daddy is an Iota Phi Theta, My Daddy is a Phi Beta Sigma.
This first-ever series will chronicle the nine existing, also
known as the “Divine 9” African American greek letter
organizations in an inspiring light that will make young children
proud of their heritage. Denouncing the negative aspects of pledging
a fraternity and/or sorority is an additional goal of this children’s
book series.
By building the Teach Me Greek brand we are winning
big by thinking different. Instead of following the trends of
the market we are creating and implementing them. The business
strategies involved continue to catapult our dreams into existence
while still offering creative solutions to the problem of the
lack of African American children’s books available in the
marketplace. Teach Me Greeks new formula for
developing this groundbreaking idea of children’s books
about African American fraternities and sororities will not only
inform, educate and cultivate all children but establish the Teach
Me Greek brand in publishing while transforming the availability
of other periodicals and categories in this genre. The capture
of a niche market, one that is a focused, targetable portion of
a market, Teach Me Greek has positioned itself
at the forefront of the publishing arena. Put quite simply, if
you are the originator you can set the rules and set the bar of
excellence. This creates a demand for quality products that your
consumers will continue to appreciate and look forward to purchasing
over and over, for years to come.
